Building your first app
Go from zero to a live, working app in minutes. This guide walks you through creating your first project on bldrAgent using the AI chat.
Welcome to bldrAgent
bldrAgent is an AI-powered app builder that lets you create fully functional web and mobile applications using plain English — no coding required.
Whether you want to build a booking system, an e-commerce store, a project management tool, or a mobile app, bldrAgent handles all the code. You just describe what you want.
Before you begin
To get started you'll need:
- A bldrAgent account — create an account
- A clear idea of what your app should do (even a rough concept works)
- About 5 minutes
Step 1 — Create a new project
- Log in to your dashboard
- Click New Project in the top-right corner
- Give your project a name (you can change this later)
- Choose a starting point: Blank or pick from App Templates
Tip: If you're unsure where to start, browse the template library. Each template is a fully-working app you can customise immediately.
Step 2 — Describe your app to the AI
Once your project is open, you'll see the AI chat panel on the left side of the editor.
Type what you want your app to do. Be as natural as you like:
Build me a restaurant booking system where customers can
pick a date, time, and party size. Send them a confirmation
email when they book.
bldrAgent's AI will:
- Generate your app's screens and navigation
- Set up the data structure (database tables)
- Wire up the logic (form submissions, confirmations, etc.)
- Apply a clean visual design automatically
Step 3 — Review the generated app
After the AI builds your first version, explore the canvas:
- Pages panel (left sidebar) — all your app's screens
- Component panel — drag-and-drop elements
- Preview button — see a live preview of your app
- AI chat — keep refining by typing more instructions
Step 4 — Refine with follow-up prompts
The AI remembers your app's context. You can keep chatting to make changes:
- "Add a staff-facing admin page that shows all bookings"
- "Make the booking form mobile-friendly"
- "Add a cancel booking button that sends a cancellation email"
See Writing prompts for tips on getting the best results.
Step 5 — Publish your app
When you're happy with your app:
- Click Publish in the top bar
- Your app is instantly live at a bldrAgent subdomain (e.g.
yourapp.bldr.app) - Connect a custom domain in App Settings anytime
What's next?
- Designing your app — customise colours, fonts, and layout
- Managing app data — view and edit your database records
- Selling on your app — add payments and subscriptions
- Mobile experience — publish to iOS and Android
